Paper Shredding and Book Recycling Events
Albany Department of General Services sponsors two (2) FREE Paper Shredding events each year. Albany residents can bring documents to be shredded, and they will be shredded on-site. DGS also collects hard and soft-cover books for recycling. Books are NOT redistributed/reused.
The events will be held at two different locations this year. Please refer to the table below for more details.

Please try to transport papers to be shredded in boxes, reusable totes, or paper bags. They will be returned once your paper has been dumped.
Residents will have the opportunity to watch their paper being shredded.
